Another of Adelle's wonderful poems. I did this improvisation earlier this year. You can tell - I look younger.

I took the photos on a recent trip to Venice (after the Italian Ukulele Festival). The photos are there to convey a mood, not in any way to tell a story.

Here are the words to Adelle's poem:

April promises good things.
the weight of your palm
firm against my thigh
surely proof of something,
though I can't decide what.
must I use words, dear,
or can this dalliance be enough?

recounting the Sundays
that led me here-
a string of pearls
left on your doorstep
proportionate to the whisperings of Sarasvati.
the truth of the moment
slips under the door
the fabric of her skirt rustling in time...
in time...

a melancholy gesture of the hand-
the fragrance of your skin
taking hold...
for lack of a better term:
I am drowning.
not the night we are in now;
but the night of eternity-
where our grandfathers sleep,
and pray we will find acceptance.
then somewhere before the dawn
your arm winds around me
and I wake upknowing
I am beautiful.
