Margaret "Peg" Hacskaylo is a social work professional with broad experience working in both nonprofit and grant-making agencies, designing and delivering high-quality services for women, families, and victims of crime for over 15 years. Prior to founding Insight Outcomes, LLC, Peg served as Program Manager for the Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women, where she collaborated with local, state and national level organizations to administer grants serving victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking crimes; Deputy Director of My Sister's Place, Inc., where she was responsible for doubling the number of families served at the nonprofit; and Project Director for the Office for Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance Center, where she provided over an $11 million, 5 year contract offering training and support to victim services nationwide. In 1997, Ms. Hacskaylo also co-founded the Safe Places Residential Program, a transitional housing program for homeless, battered women in Northern Virginia. She is currently the Executive Director of the District Alliance for Safe Housing, and she has presented at numerous conferences on women and victimization, and has performed research on program coordination for victims.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
