Proofs - Yuck !  Well, maybe not.  This clip shows how proofs are important in mathematics and why engineers should care.  I also show a very simple proof of the Pythagorean Theorem.  It's a very simple one and easy to follow.  My 12 year old daughter had no problem with it.

Mathematics is built on a solid foundation of proofs, so mathematicians are very fond of them.  Engineers tend not to like them because there is no repeatable process for generating them.
