Part 27.In 2004, the original Metroid was given a remake called Zero Mission which retold the first story all while providing what happened to Samus after the first game. Various items were carried on to the remake such as the Plasma Beam, Space Jump, Gravity Suit and Power Bombs. The biggest addition was of a continuation that explained what happened to Samus after the first game. Samus removed her power suit as she was leaving Zebes but not before her ship was shot down as the result of a space pirate ambush. Her ship crash landed in Chozodia bearing only her Zero Suit and a Stun Pistol, she infiltrated a Space Pirate Mothership using stealth to evade the space pirates. She eventually reached a Chozo Temple in which she completed a challenge to gain a fully-powered Chozo Power Suit. Hitting at full power, Samus faced off against Mecha-Ridley and after defeating it escaped in an enemy gunship.
