(19 Nov 2018) A farewell ceremony was held on Monday at Russia's Star City for crew members of the ISS expedition 58, ahead of an expected launch on December 3. Canadian astronaut David Saint-Jacques, American Astronaut Anne C. McClain and Russian Cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko were joined by their shadow expedition crew and relatives, posing for a photograph in front of Star City's Lenin memorial. The crew's launch was brought forward after a Soyuz-FG rocket carrying NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Roscosmos' Alexei Ovchinin failed two minutes into its flight on October 11, activating an automatic rescue system that allowed their capsule to land safely. A Russian investigation attributed the failure to a sensor that was damaged during the rocket's final assembly.
