This short series answers the question. What is ARMA 2 Wasteland mod? Basically Wasteland is a mod that puts the player in a faction war between 4 groups - BluFor, OpFor, Independents, and AI. BluFor and OpFor allow for cooperation within your team and teamkilling is punished. Whereas, the Independent faction allows for the player to be a lone wolf or create smaller, unofficial squads where you can kill anyone you see without punishment. Wasteland also allows for base building by scavenging building materials to further fortify your team's base. There are also random, AI generated events defended by AI soldiers. These include plane crash sites, disabled armored vehicles, weapons caches, ect... and are announced to all factions at the same time. This creates a rush of players to those areas and some great PvP action can be found there. The action is much faster paced than DayZ, it's easier to gear up and get across the map, and the action is more frequent.
