At least 15 people were killed and more than 50 injured in a suicide bomb attack on a Shiite Muslim ceremony in Potiskum, Nigeria on Monday. A suicide bomber reportedly hid among a large crowd of Shiite Muslims who were marching to celebrate the annual Ashura ceremony, CNN reported. The bomber detonated his explosive vest near a seminary, killing at least 15 on the spot. Some Shiite Muslims sought refuge inside the seminary after the blast. Nigerian soldiers who deployed after the blast reportedly broke into the seminary and opened fire on them, killing six and injuring four people, CNN reported. No group has claimed responsibility for the bomb attack.
