Sean Arce, former head of a Mexican-American studies program in Arizona was dismissed from his job at a school district members board meeting on Tuesday. The program has been under attack after the passage of a bill which prohibits schools from offering ethnic studies courses. Arizona Superintendent, John Huppenthal denied Arizona banning any books, though school officials released a list of seven banned books in the state, where ethnicity and oppression are central themes. Sean Arce joins Democracy Now to discuss the law.
