Beneath the Planet of the Apes Rilfe Replica This was actually and end-run of Apemania's replica BENEATH "BACKGROUND" rifle replica hybrids. Modeled after the "background" versions of the BENEATH CARBINES, but with a realistic receiver, spring load-ed trigger, and detailed barrel end assembly, which the movie props were not outfitted with. NOTE: This is an ancient video, and the finish is reading very bright. Here's a link to a video with more accurate coloring: ECONOMY 1968 POTA GORILLA CARBINE (cosplay model) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QHy9CzXKIo Us ape kids always wanted one of these when way back in the day, but Mattel was only rehashing old cowboy pistols, Winchesters, and Tommy Guns... http://apemania.com/TOYS/ToyMasks&guns.jpeg http://apemania.com/TOYS/WHAT_IT_WASx3.jpg Slapping a Planet of the Apes sticker on a six shooter doesn't make it a Planet of the Apes gun!
