Learning to play Rogue defensively will allow you to survive big onslaughts. Its all about using defensive abilities to play stay offensive. You try to mitigate damage best you can in order to not have to play defensively. Using things like LoS, CDs, and Feint, you are able to reduce and avoid some of the in-game damage.
