Overall Summary: Before reading further, I realize the boat has only seven rowers, and we are also lack Yoni in the future for this semester. On the whole, the boat appears to be relatively relaxed, but at time there is a bit of frantic rowing. maybe some tension. Make sure you breath properly, and stay relaxed and fluid in the boat. The more relaxed, fluid and continuous you are with the stroke, the faster and more set the boat will become.

0:00-0:31 The largest thing I notice for this shot is an obvious pause at the release from both 5 and 6 seat. 6 seat, it also appears you are not pulling all the way into your chest. Be sure to pull all the way to your body, then tap out. That may help with decreasing the pause as you wait for stroke seat to reach the same point in the recovery. You won't have to play catch up, but rather will be in time with him. In this shot you are currently slightly behind. If you pause the video during the recovery it will be apparent what I'm saying.

0:32-1:00 More than anything this shot from the rear is just an example of what it looks like when handle heights are not matched. However, this isn't easy to critique in this particular case because there is an odd number of rowers off-setting the boat. One thing that is noticeable is a slight bit of digging from 7 and 8 seat. Don't force the oar under water quite so much.

1:01-2:10 Very nice early square ups from 8 and 7 seat, and nicely dropped in. Not missing water at the catch is important. The pause at 6 seat is also noticeable in this shot. I believe this pause at the release on 6 seat is what it causing a pause in 5 and 4 as well. 1 seat be sure to get the blade completely squared up before dropping in at the catch. The square up is a bit late, and doesn't look to be completely square until after the bottom of the blade makes contact with the water at the catch. In the overall boat shot at 1:47, you'll notice body swing is also a bit out of sync. Make sure we are swinging our backs together at the same angles and rate following stroke. We will do more on this in the future.

2:11-2:34 Nice, quick catch from stroke seat. A slight bit of skying at the catch...but not much. Make sure you keep your hands up at the catch. This shot really shows that pause again at 6 seat, which ripples back and causes it in the subsequent and adjacent seats behind. Pay close attention to pull all the way to your body, and tap out together. We don't want to play "catch up" during the stroke.

2:35-2:48 Just another view of the pause. I don't meant to harp on it too much, but it is something that needs to be corrected and recognized. It's hard to see it in the boat, but these external views are helpful.

2:49-3:08 Make sure your eyes remain in the boat 2 seat. Continue those early square ups at 1 seat also. 7 Seat, nice early square ups, but it appears in this shot you miss just a small amount of water at the catch. Make sure we drop the oar in BEFORE we start driving with our legs. Air over the oar will not move the boat.
