United Nations, New York, 26 August 2009 - High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay has welcomed the United States Attorney-Generals decision to appoint a special prosecutor to look into whether Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officers and contractors violated US laws during the interrogation of detainees at places outside the United States, including Guantanamo Bay.
