(5 Oct 2018) North and South Koreans joined together in Pyongyang on Friday to mark the anniversary of a previous attempt at rapprochement on the divided peninsula. The two Koreas celebrated the 11th anniversary of a 2007 inter-Korean summit between then leaders of North and South, Kim Jong Il and Roh Moo-hyun. The South Korean government delegation was led by South Korean Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon and Lee Hae-chan of the South's ruling Democratic Party. The delegation also includes the son of late South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun, who participated in the 2007 summit with North Korea's then-leader Kim Jong Il, the late father of current ruler Kim Jong Un. That was the second ever leaders' summit between North and South.
