We know this. We've been told this. We've practiced it. And yet it's a lesson most of us have to relearn over and over. Power comes from within. It all comes from within. We go in search of happiness, joy, dignity, passion, wealth, etc. outside of ourselves. When we find it, you realize it's not in the objects or the experiences we were chasing. It was right here all along. Being here at Trance Camp with Steve Gilligan has been a process of reconnecting conscious with unconscious and a lot of it feels like relearning what I already know. During one process we practiced I decided I would like more fun and adventure in my life. When the guide brought me to an experience that was fun and adventurous it was clear that neither the environment nor anyone else created that for me. I created that reality. Because I created it I could bring it with me anywhere and create it anywhere. Consider this for yourself. What do you want more of in your life? Think of an experience when you had that. Where is it coming from? You! Knowing this empowers you to create your destiny. It's the key to your reality. We shy away from this responsibility often. Just know that by doing so you are disconnecting from parts of yourself. This will inevitably send you in search outside of yourself for these parts which only exist within you. When I described my experience to Steve he told me a story about the martial arts master who created Aikido. One day one of his students said "Master, you never lose your center." In Aikido your center is your balance and if your opponent can take your center he's beaten you. "I lose my center as much as anyone else," said the Master, "I just get it back faster than my opponents." Mistakes are going to happen Steve said. It's not the person who makes the least mistakes who succeeds. It's your response to the mistake that counts. Come back to your center. Connect with your power. Take absolute responsibility for who you are, mistakes and all; that's your power from within. Want to learn verbal Aikido?
