The March patch has added a new PvP mode called "Blitz Brawl" with two tracks/events in every region. In this video you can see some footage of it.

You have to collect points by getting to randomly placed scoring zones as fast as possible and then staying in them for as long as possible while they are active. Collision is always on, so you can try to push your opponents out of the zones to prevent them from scoring.

Personally I prefer the normal races of course but I am definitely fine with this new mode being there as well. It can be fun for a change sometimes.

Sorry for the lags in the first part. Somehow the game had a few performance issues for me today.
