When someone asks me, "What breed doesn't require a lot of maintenance?" My answer is, "They all require regular maintenance." Saying, "I want a dog, but one that doesn't require a lot of maintenance," is like saying, "I want a friendship, but I don't want to put any time or effort into it." It all takes time and energy because that's what good relationships are built upon. By taking the time to groom your dog on regular basis, you are showing them in an obvious way that they understand, "I care about you. I love you, and I'm happy to take care of all your needs." Nature has given us a way to clearly show our dogs how much we care about them - not by words or treats, but through our actions.
