In honor of Indigenous Peoples' Day, here’s a message of solidarity from Roberto Espinoza of AIDESEP, Peru’s national federation of indigenous communities (and part of the Rainforest Alliance family). Strengthening indigenous land rights is a powerful, proven defense against deforestation and climate change. As indigenous communities advance the movement for formal recognition of their land rights, we are working with AIDESEP to build truly sustainable indigenous forest economies in the Peruvian Amazon.
