*** I want reiterate that even though this is a 'Bonham video' and a lot is put in to the context of Bonham, the gist of what I'm saying is that quantization kills a large part of a musician's personality/character/traits when it's used in a recorded performance. It's especially obvious with drummers as we play discrete notes, and so much of a drummer's subtle character is how the time and groove is handled at various points in a song/performance. It's as if there is 20% MUZAK anti-feel venom injected into every quantized recorded performance that exists.

Human emotion isn't on an atomic clock-it's on rhythms and cycles of course, but they're not 0 or 1, all or nothing.. up to .99999999999999999999999 perfect it has the mojo, but pop just up to 1 (100% performance on the grid perfection) and it turns to plastic!

"Time is relative" Albert Einstein (who loved Camcos, Supras and Zildjians!)

That said, this video is certainly not intended as a slam on rap, house, electronica and the like. Those are styles of music that are written and intended to exist in the 'Quantized Sphere'.
