CINCINNATI (Deb Dixon) -- Bud Rullman hasnt slept in his Cleves home since Nov. 2. The last time he slept in his house he was robbed. A knife-wielding burglar tied him up with a phone cord and stole money and his T.V. The robbers been arrested but it left the WWII veteran shaken. Rullman said, I wasnt going to take a chance at night. Best thing to do is stay away from home as much as possible. Its the home he built in 1951, the home where he and wife Marilyn raised their daughter. But Bud doesnt have to stay away anymore. Dial One Security installed a security system in his home Tuesday, Nov. 11. President John Lindberg said the company wanted to give back to the veteran; give him back his peace of mind. Lindberg said, He can arm it whether hes at home or away. It has panic buttons and its wireless, so even if someone cuts the phone cord, it still works. The Dial One Security sign outside was a warning to thieves to stay away. Another business wanted to give back to Bud. HH GREGG gave him a T.V. to replace the one that was stolen. Rullman said, Wow, gee wiz, what a great picture. Bud Rullman called it heartwarming but hes learned from the experience. One of the men who robbed him was someone he tried to help. Wednesday night, the veteran who went to war at 17-years-old can go back home and not be afraid. Rullman said, Im tickled to death. I thank the Lord I wasnt hurt. Best thing you can do is enjoy life as much as you can. Follow Deborah Dixon on Twitter @crimestopperdeb and LIKE her on Facebook. Follow us on Twitter @Local12 and LIKE us on Facebook for updates
