RAW VIDEO (EBS) : Former Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt is the new president of the liberal-democrat ALDE group in the European Parliament. The group is the third-largest group with about 80 seats. Verhofstadt succeeds British liberal-democrat Graham Watson, who is still campaigning to become president of the European Commission. Verhofstadt has said that he opposes a vote on Barroso's reappointment as Commission President in July. With such a postponement, the chances for other candidates like Watson increase. Verhofstadt himself also is seen as a possible candidate, although he won't state this ambition in public.
