The Bible says that a thing is confirmed by TWO WITNESSES.

Deut. 17:6, Deut. 19:15, Matthew 18:16, 2 Corin. 13:1, I Timothy 5:19, Hebrews 10:28, Rev. 11:3-4.

So when something sounds fishy, ask for the SECOND witness in scripture.

Where are the TWO places that it says women can't teach or preach? Where are the TWO places it says that women must cover their heads? Where are the TWO places that it says that if you stay in faith, love and holiness, you won't die in childbirth? Where are the TWO places it says that we should be baptised on behalf of the dead?

If you can't find another confirming witness - OR there are witnesses to the contrary - then shelve it and don't fight about it. You don't have to understand EVERYTHING, you just have to love the Lord, heard His voice and obey.
