All my acrylic paints are mixed with a pouring medium in advance contained in squeeze bottles with out any addition of silicon. In stage 1 ,I began with a 14"x 14 " canvas I create a large black spiral and smooth it out with a spatula.I fill a small dollar store plastic dustpan with colors and remove them with a small plastic scoop.I fill in with colors and add more from bottles as necessary, filling the gaps using a silicon basting brush with 2/3 of its bristles removed. I begin to drag paint from the center of the pattern out to the edges of the canvas in long strokes through the colors creating long tendrils or spikes with a bamboo skewer. To finish I add dots of cors around the spiral .Some I pull with the skewer and others I use to create smaller spirals ...I may have added a few more after the recording finished ..
THERE IS NO SILICONE in this artwork's paint mix.I use ZERO silicon in the pre mixed colors stored in squeeze bottles with no other cell creating additive is included. Floetrol and Gac 800 (By Golden)are what I use as pouring mediums. My paint mix or "recipe" is as follows. Add color 90% acrylic color to 10% "Golden's" Gac 800 .Mix thoroughly (GAC 800 prevents cracking) .Add Floetrol( by "Flood") , until the mixture is double (or more ) mix thoroughly. That's the whole recipe .To create shimmering colors, I add also"Golden's" Iridescent pearl medium to colors. As much as looks right . Every day I learn something new. I never stop experimenting and I am happy to share what I discover with you.#3567- wet #3579 wet #3584 dry
