The detective in charge of the fresh search for Lynette Dawson's body is determined to dig 'until we hit rock' - and has revealed police are 'absolutely' confident of laying charges against her then-husband Chris Dawson. Mrs Dawson disappeared in 1982 and her body has never been found in one of the most baffling cold cases in Australia's history. New South Wales homicide squad director Scott Cook said police were committed to a thorough scour of the $2.4million home on Sydney's Northern Beaches, which is expected to take five days. 'We'll go until we hit rock,' Mr Cook said as the search began on Wednesday, referring to the 'police operation in regards to the Lynette Dawson murder'. He also revealed his 'absolute' confidence that charges will be laid - even if no remains are found at the property.
