(6 Oct 2018) The bodies of two teenaged brothers were found, locked in a final embrace, beneath the rubble of a collapsed building, in the disaster-struck Indonesian city of Palu, on Saturday.
Rescue workers pulled out 18 year old Muhammad Rafly, his 16 year old brother Muhammad Hidiyat, clinging to him, from under debris, in front of their uncle's house, in the devastated Balaroa area.
As their bagged bodies were brought off a truck and laid on the ground, their father, Rudy Rahman, tried to console their grieving mother. Another son is still missing.
"They found them found in the position where they were holding each other. These two brothers were hugging each other,"    39 year old Rahman told the Associated Press.
Eight bodies in all were found in Balaroa on Saturday, as the official death toll from last Friday's earthquake and subsequent   tsunami reached 1649. Recovery teams continue to work in the tropical heat to find victims, eight days on.
