Polar blast travelled some 3000km from Antarctica to the lower South Island depositing a late Autumn dump of snow to sea level, knocking out power to parts of Dunedin / Otago Peninsula. The Peninsula bore the brunt of the storm with 100km+ winds & -9°C windchill & 10-15cm snow above 100m.
