In Tingo María National Park mountain range (Huánuco Department, central Peru), known as La Bella Durmiente (Sleeping Beauty), researchers discovered a new species of rain frog in the genus Pristimantis. Pristimantis pulchridormientes is distinguished by its bright red groins, shanks and thighs.
