This 2nd sequence shows more of the 1st instar larvae of the Mojave Electra Silk Moth group precession and feeding behavior in time lapse. These spiny little caterpillars hatch in late winter/early spring from a cluster of eggs laid the previous fall. They remain together in a tight group for protection until they are much larger.
