The Department of Energy and AES Energy Storage recently agreed to a $17.1M conditional loan guarantee commitment. This project will develop the first battery-based energy storage system to provide a more stable and efficient electrical grid for New York State's high-voltage transmission network. 

Matt Rogers is the Senior Advisor to the Secretary for Recovery Act Implementation.
