The migration of women to business over 50 years ago was heralded by an overarching mandate that in order to get ahead in business, a woman needed to act like a man. Dr. Shelley Prevost argues that this is an outdated notion and that the future of work depends on all of us embracing traditionally-held female values like empathy, intuition, and inclusivity. Drawing lessons from her own journey, she shows that these values are vital to the business world, and startups in particular. 

Dr. Shelley Prevost is the CEO at Torch--a company who’s empowering families to use technology in creative and balanced ways. Her professional journey has moved her from psychologist to startup investor to mentor to entrepreneur. From that experience, she has become vocal about the need for more authentic female leadership in startups and business. Shelley co-founded venture capital incubator, Lamp Post Group, and the JumpFund—an angel investment fund focused on female-led startups with high growth potential. She writes for Inc. and The Huffington Post, and has been featured in Time, Yahoo Business, Fast Company, LikeHacker, and Business Insider.
