The Internet is the cornerstone of modern society. However, it is supported by an outdated model of banner advertising, which faces issues ranging from fraud and ad-blocking to privacy concerns. By integrating the blockchain into the advertising industry, it represents new and innovative ways to support the free and open web. Ryan Chang is the Regional Director of LaunchX in the Asia Pacific region and an alumni of the MIT Launch 2016 session. He is an avid entrepreneur in his spare time, having started multiple companies. Ryan is passionate about advertising, the blockchain, and practical applications of innovative technologies. He currently studies in Taipei European School. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
