Sorry it's mostly just a slideshow, but I had to get a 22km hike with 1000m elevation gain then 1500m loss complete in less than half a day. Managed to do the whole trip then drive 3 hours back to Calgary by sunset! My first solo back country adventure too.

It was an incredible day. Started at the Cameron Lake boathouse, hiked up to Hidden Lake, headed up to the col known as "Carthew Summit between Mt. Carthew and Mt. Alderson, then headed up to the REAL summit of Mt. Carthew. From there, I headed past the three Carthew Lakes and Alderson Lake, towards the town of Waterton.

After almost seven hours on foot almost entirely alone, with less than a minute of hiking to go, I encountered a black bear face to face right at the town boundary. It was an adventure, for sure!
