On October 9th, 2008, Freedom Party leader Paul McKeever was a panelist on the Crossroads Television (CTS) program "On the Line" with host Christine Williams. The panel discussed Canada's 2008 federal election and attempts by socialist opposition parties to blame the current government for failing to do more to combat the effects of the global credit crisis. Mixed in with that discussion was a discussion about proposed plans by the current government to expose young offenders to adult sentences in severe cases. As usual, the left takes the position that instead of incarcerating murderers, we should be spending money to combat poverty which - they suggest - causes people to become criminals.
