iBook shuts down automatically

Without fail, this MacBook's system brings up the shut down dialog with zero user interaction within a minute of boot, and seconds later forcefully shuts down. This happens even if I boot from the OS installation DVD. What the hell?! If you have any idea what is happening, please send me a message.
