A swimmer had to be rescued from choppy waters off the coast of Cornwall today after he decided to go for a dip during Storm Diana. The man (pictured after his rescue, left, during, top right and in the sea, circled bottom right) was spotted in stormy waters near Penzance at midday when a lifeboat shot out to save him. An RNLI crew was scrambled to the swimmer's aide after the National Coastwatch team saw him among mountainous waves at Mounts Bay. He did not suffer any injuries and was given some safety advice about swimming in adverse weather conditions after he was brought ashore in his underwear. There are danger to life warnings in place across large parts of Britain today, as rain and 70mph winds from the Atlantic Ocean and Storm Diana batter the country.
