DNA Sequencing - when pricepoint gets really low, you can over many sequences, monitor what is going on in the dna, what is going on over time with a disease, ... useful also for sequencing the biosphere - useful? If you can sequence everything you can see how one thing is related to another, see common ancestors, what traits come from what part of the dna, which is more a correlational study now, not that mechanistic. If you want to learn form DNA you need to have huge databases full of it. We only have ~92% of the human genome (due to repeat sequences that don't come out nicely from shotgun sequences).
