Dr. Taryn Fletcher has a deep love for the classroom, which developed through her mother’s love of the classroom. “She had the best learning spaces one could imagine!” Taryn recalls. Through her mother's inspiration, Dr. Fletcher fell deeper in love with the idea of developing teachers and leaders to revitalize education, to dig deeper into instructional pedagogy, and to support their students’ community by using their home and cultural environment as a teaching tool. Dr. Fletcher is her 12th year of education, and she has worked in many capacities within public and private education during those 12 years. She has been a classroom assistant, classroom teacher, an instructional coach, an assistant principal, principal, and now a principal manager. Taryn Fletcher is a school principal in Philadelphia. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
