Having an accompanist to check your tuning every time you do your scale practice is nigh-on impossible unless you pay for it!

Why not use the hugely powerful resource that is iOS GarageBand?

In this film, I demonstrate how you can use the smart chords to create a backing track for your scales. After recording, you can simply change the key in the preferences according to the scale you're working on! You can also create different octaves, and whether you use long tonic (for violin scales).

This is not only beneficial for tuning, but it also helps rhythmic accuracy, as well as being fun to use!
