During floods of August '08, the pond had been under 2.5m of water when a nearby river flooded and settled sludge had contaminated the pond. The filter had also been washed into the pond and the pump siezed up. The filter was replaced with a partially buried pressure filter and the pump was replaced with a low wattage solids handling pump. The block path was lifted to feed pipes and electric in / out of pond and then replaced. The planter was built to hide the pipes leaving / entering the pond as the outer edge of the pond was not broken up as pond had been rendered and painted.
