A Walk to Remember
This movie is one of those films that makes you cry every time because you can absolutely relate to the story. This beautiful take on a boy from the wrong side of the tracks falling for the preacher's daughter, only to lose her to death a year after they get married is poignant and heart wrenching. The music video at the end is just as moving.

The Notebook
"The Notebook" had both an exceptionally sad, but satisfying story, and it was beautifully acted. A couple who struggled to be together when they were younger lived a full life, and then in the end, when memories faded to disease, the two lovers were able to die together. Plus, everyone wanted Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling to be together forever just like their characters.

If you like Pixar for its uplifting films, you might find this one different. It'll have you crying before the end of the opening credits, which means you'll likely cry through the whole movie. You're treated to a montage of Carl and Ellie's life as they go from painting their first mailbox to saying goodbye in the hospital. All of Carl's dreams of adventure seemingly died with Ellie. Or did they?

The Green Mile
For this movie to work, the acting would have to be absolutely above reproach, and the actors delivered beautifully. You become so invested in the characters that you react to whatever happens to them. The scene where Del bonds with Mr. Jingles can cause some watery eyes, and the electric chair scenes will have you bawling your eyes out. It's a great movie, but expect some tears.

Charlie St. Cloud
This isn't a spoiler because it's in the trailer and the description of the movie, but the scene where Charlie's brother Sam dies will make you cry, and if not, you should check your pulse because you might not be human. The movie doesn't stop there because Charlie will have to choose between seeing his deceased brother and finding love. Talk about a tear fest.

My Sister's Keeper
Just reading the back cover of this movie could have you in tears. When an 11-year-old feels like she needs to seek out a lawyer in order to gain medical emancipation from a parent who is farming her in order to keep her older, leukemia-ridden sister alive, you know it's rife with tearjerker moments. It's a sad, sad story.

Steel Magnolias
No matter how many times you see this movie, when Sally Field's M'Lynn breaks down into hysterics because of her daughter's death, the tears well up uncontrollably. When the other women of their little group comfort her, those same tears spill over profusely. It's a sad story with a bittersweet ending. As one life ends, another begins.

Marley & Me
There is something about animal movies that just gets to people. It's easy to watch cute and funny videos, but it's difficult to watch the sad ones. "Marley & Me" is a great example of the cute and cuddly mixed with the devastating. Don't watch this movie if you can't handle watching an animal die, but aside from that, it is a touching story about a dog and his family.
