(7 Dec 2018) Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen said his government will not allow any foreign military base on its territory following media reports that China has lobbied for a naval base in the Southeast Asian country. Hun Sen, who was on a three-day visit to Vietnam, held a joint news briefing on Friday with his Vietnamese counterpart, Nguyen Xuan Phuc. During the news conference, he said Cambodia's constitution does not allow any foreign military bases to be built. Hun Sen dismissed the information that there are plans for construction as "fake news."
