Light,elegant and modest,Sep Ruf's 'Chancellor's bungalow' in Bonn was a masterpiece of post-war modernism,conceived as a symbol for a new Germany without delusions of grandeur. Now the newly restored 1962 building has been reopened. ARTS.21 visited the Chancellor's bungalow together with one of the former housekeepers. In Berlin,Chief of the Chancellor's Office Thomas de Maizière talks about how tastes in the Chancellor's private quarters have changed since the government moved to Berlin.
