Lecture: Collecting Old Master Prints in the 21st Century Armin Kunz, Owner, C.G. Boerner LLC, New York and Düsseldorf The introduction of printmaking in the 1400s represents a watershed in the history of Western Art. Old Master artists such as Albrecht Dürer and Rembrandt van Rijn made some of their finest work in etchings and engravings. Old Master prints are still relevant today and represent unique collecting opportunities for both museums as well as individuals. Learn what makes these prints so compelling today. This talk is organized in honor of the Portland Art Museum’s recent acquisition of Adam and Eve, a celebrated 1638 etching by Rembrandt van Rijn. The talk is sponsored by the Graphic Arts Council, a support group of the Portland Art Museum. http://portlandartmuseum.us/mwebcgi/mweb.exe?request=record;id=80035;type=101 This lecture was recorded on December 02, 2018 in Portland Art Museum's Whitsell Auditorium
