The best way to ask is by saying:
Nǐ kěyǐ bāng wǒ ma
你可以帮我吗
Can you help me? 

If the answer is positive use:
Hǎo de
好的
Ok

If the answer is negative politely say:
Bù hǎoyìsi
不好意思
Sorry
