Finally got part 2 up... would have had it done earlier, but I had things to do and people to visit yesterday.

Anyway, here's the second part to my thoughts on the topic.  I talk more about the Dj's and how they helped to not only craft and evolve hip hop music, but also spawn other genres that in my opinion, have more of the hip hop spirit in them than rap these days.  Even though this is mostly talking about the changes between the old stuff, and mainstream rap, this is also applicable to all mainstream music these days: the stuff shoved down our ears on radio and video channels today just don't have the spark, the drive, the potent energy that spawned their genres in the first place.

Again, this is just my opinion.  I know people like the new stuff, but I grew up listening to the start of it all.  The music has not really changed for the better these days.  Hopefully this is only a temporary phase, but I'm not betting on it.

(oh, and yes, I know the camera's ugly... I'm working on it.)
