This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. In a country where many public school students feel they have no future in a private university, Paul Mohammad Yatim decides to break educational boundaries by using all the emotional and financial support he can find. With one invention, one competition, and one aim in mind, Paul shows his audience that when a student has the will to learn, then nothing can stop him/her. A computer science major whose ultimate goal is to work in robotics, Paul drives for two and a half hours every day to get to his classes on time. He describes himself as an unusual misfit with a mind of his own. Paul's motto in life: "Never give up a challenge and make everything a challenge." About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
