This is another installment in my historical series. It is the third and final arrangement of this piece, such as it is. I had fun doing it. Dates to 1993, after I had moved to Tokyo and bought my Korg T2. Recording was done with a Tascam Porta One. I know the date because part of the lyrics are written on a envelope postmarked April 23, 1993! Here they are. Must have been drunk when I wrote them. And some of them are shared with my other song Maybe Thing's Weren't Going so Good. Hmm, that's interesting... You'll find the door's locked But not for long A visitor's coming And he's bringing a song Keep the lights in front on Part the curtains And put away the toys 'Cause one thing's certain He'll wanta have fun, to be entertained he's a year older to day It's Yuji's birthday Break out the beer, shochu, osake, alcohol, anything Skydiving train tracks falling on the plain Guess the noise it makes when it splatters is a pain Ain't no other way but one "G" down Too bad the damn parachute likes to play clown Ever loving whim and the waters rise again Damn me [bad word] them all I never learned to swim What's it all about as the waters sweep past Love always gets a start but never ever lasts Lazin' life is gathering a pound of fat on me It's settling in the place where my brain's supposed to be A storm on the horizon darkens clouds like mad I gotta heavy feeling that the weather's getting bad Where's the good life that this world has promised me? Why am I sitting her pondering how it should be Spray it on, wash it off, a new tiger's hide The costume seems to fit, but I never stay inside Fast on the trail catching up too quick on the pummeling snowball that just a while ago I kicked The disaster I created has become all mine Whirling dizzy skylights shining orange in the sun Begging for its mercy for what it's done Tiny little snowball started from falling off a branch Now that I surpassed it it's become an avalanche Wo, wo, blind are the free Cursed are the others for stepping on me This is my rap song, no more to say So happy birthday from me
