He has twice been awarded the Department of Defense's highest civilian award, the Distinguished Public Service Medal. Graham is currently the director of Harvard's Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. His best-selling books include "Essence of Decision: Explaining the Cuban Missile Crisis" and "Lee Kuan Yew: The Grand Master's Insights on China, the United States and the World." His latest book, "Destined for War: Can America and China Escape Thucydides's Trap?" ,looks at the tensions that arise between established and rising global powers, and how this could lead to conflict.
