While at embedded world this year we dropped by for a chat with our friends from Microchip and they showed us some neat demo applications. We selected the most interesting, and just bombarded them with questions! Here's the first one: The MM7150 Motion Module.

In this video, Jeannette Wilson, Product Marketing Manager at Microchip, talks about this tiny module (around 17 x 17 x 1 mm): A complete, small form factor solution including accelerometer, magnetometer, and gyroscope sensors pre-programmed with integrated calibration and sensor fusion algorithms. With a few I2C and power and ground connections, applications can easily read raw, compensated and calibrated 3D motion and position data. The MM7150 Motion Module is single sided to be easily soldered down during manufacturing.
