Darfur: ICC Coalition urges action

United Nations, New York, 4 June 2009 - The International Criminal Court (ICC) at the Hague in the Netherlands is being urged to end the conflict in Darfur, Sudan by bringing the perpetrators of ongoing violence there to justice. 
 
The Coalition for the International Criminal Court has today called on the United Nations Security Council to pass the issue of Sudan for investigation by the ICC. 
 
The speakers are : Richard Dicker, Director, International Justice Program, Human Rights Watch; and Omer Ismail, Vice President, Advocacy, Darfur Peace and Development and Advisor, The Enough Project. 

On June 5 the ICC prosecutor will address the Security Council and discuss the court's progress on the issue of Darfur.
