This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. In the era of developed science technology, the interpretation of the human body is changing in a new direction. If we have thought of our bodies as complete organisms before, nowadays they are more like puzzle pieces that can be disassembled. Just like lego blocks, the human body is separated into organs, tissues, genetic information, antibodies, and surgical specimens and then sold. It is now essential that we ponder upon to whom our bodies really belong. Are our bodies really ours? Lee Eun Hee suggests an inspirational answer to this question that directly connects with human being’s physical entity. Having majored biology in Yonsei University, Lee Eun Hee is famous for her Harihara book series that explain complex concepts of science in an easy and interesting way. Continuing her career as a writer she currently publishes columns in newspapers, and give lectures in Hanyang University. A mother of triplets born through intrauterine insemination she have always had her particular interests regarding human bodies. She wishes to share her interesting insights towards the Body Bazaar(written by Lori Andrews and Nelkin Dorothy) which is no longer a future story. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
